Empowering the Body, MAWL, The Students are coming!
ISI Dallas/Fort WorthOne of the special privileges in being a part of ISI is the opportunity to encourage, empower and train the Body of Christ to love international students and to help the students grow into disciples who make disciples. We are in the middle of a three week period where our ISI North Texas team is doing just that on consecutive Saturdays. Last Saturday Roy had the opportunity to train a group of 30 volunteers and staff at UT Dallas in how to move what they do towards a M:28 ministry style of ministry. It was a lot of pressure for Roy as he was modeling for several staff how to do this so they can do the same in future weeks. This Saturday, Roy & Lisa will be involved the the UTA team with Ron in doing the same here. Next Saturday, those who watched last Saturday will do the same training at UTD again with Roy watching them. Modeling, Assisting, Watching, Leaving (MAWL) is a key principle in M:28 ministry and is critical for multiplication in ministry and we are learning how to apply it in all that we do.
Pray as we prepare for welcoming new students back in August through Big Howdy and Big Howdy like events. Roy will be picking up 6 students in the next week. There will also be rides to Walmart this week and tables at orientations at UTA. Pray that there will be good connections and that we will connect with many People of Peace. UTD is expecting over 1500 new students. I don’t know the number at UTA or TCU this year but UTA is probably close.
