The Quran as a Bridge & Rambots

Ministry, Praise, T News

As I write this I am fighting a cold and trying get stuff done for the coming week. This last week was good for Roy but harder for Lisa. Roy was able to go to the ISI Rocky Mountains and Plains Regional Retreat up in Wichita, KS. We learned about minstering to Muslims and how to bridge the gap between the Quran and the Old and New Testament so they could discover the true God of the Bible and fall in love with Him. I had never read the Quran before this weekend but in reading I was amazed how many hooks there are to get people into God’s Word. It gave much hope in ministering to many friends out here. It was a restful time too which is something I needed badly. Lisa took the brunt of the family duties but I am proud of her for her hard work and handling things so well. We felt God’s presence in the whole situation.

You all were praying for Timothy’s robotics team from Bailey Jr. High, the Rambots. They competed on Saturday (See pictures and videos) and their Robot worked. They placed 7th out of 16 in the “functional” contest. In the overall competition, where they were judged on their presentation, display, attitude, prepared video, and the actual robot, they finished 4th overall. Most of the contestants were High Schools. We are so proud of what he accomplished. He seemed to grow up in front of our eyes. Praise the Lord for helping Timothy get a very difficult thing with poise and grace. Thanks also for international student Michael from Egypt who helped Tim when Roy was out of town. God provide him with his gift mix at just the right moment.
