Hi everyone. Another quick message. We should be getting back in to a more normal mode soon. Now, see the guy on the right… who is that man in black? have aliens invaded? Jonathan is in his full Academic Decathlon regalia fresh with “regulation” hair cut for the event. I know it was hard but we are proud that he decided to sacrifice for the sake of the team.
Some quick hits
- We had a great Big Howdy Party again this year at UTA (See pictures) God provided just enough food. Students were dancing and eating and getting to know each other. Lisa met two girls from Belize. One became a believer through the ministry of a friend at Kilgore college before she came to UTA. Did you know that English is the official language of Belize?
- A difficult thing happened while we were at the Big Howdy Party. Roy got a call from Stephen, our Friendship Partner from East Asia who house sat for us during the winter holiday. He got into an accident with a friends car. Roy actually had to help him with his own car when the shifter on the automatic transmission got stuck earlier in the week. He felt really terrible about the whole thing. Pray that God may show him about grace through this and through his friend. Pray that we can be a help for him.
- Jonathan placed in the top 10 in a creative writing contest in Arlington. Timothy is taking a Engineering, Architecture and Graphics Arts class through scouts and is learning a lot. Charis played her first basketball game of the season and they won.
- We did not split our home groups yet for UTA ISI but we have the groups planned and we wills start this week. We will be hosting one of the groups Praise for a great combined leadership meeting this last week to pray, divide the groups, etc.
- Getting closer to feeling caught up. We turned in our national 5 year ministry plan to national ISI.
- Roy shared at both of Dr. Orr’s Intro to Missions classes at Dallas Theological seminary and over 35 signed up to look at ministering to international students.
