(See related July Pictures) One of the special blessings over the lats 15 years in Arlington is that we have had the pleasure of hosting literally thousands of student in our home. In each of those times they get to see Jesus lived out in our lives and the lives of our believing students and team members. Much of their time in our home is spent in the kitchen. Bible studies have been held there. Marriage counseling has happened there. People have met Jesus for the first time there. Of course much food and fun have also been shared.
In 15 years that we have lived here, the old kitchen has slowly begun to show its age, looking tired and worn. Like the old velveteen rabbit, it has become threadbare from the love and care transmitted through it. The last two week we were blessed on so many levels with the visit of Roy’s parents. Together with Roy and the family we all worked together as a team to transform the kitchen back into something fresh and updated, a good environment for students to grow. It was also special because my kids got to see their grandparents at their best. It was a huge win-win time for all.
Praises:
- My 78 year old dad was amazing. He worked 3-4 times faster and longer than me in everything as we worked on the house and my mom was just the right thing for Charis at this stage of her life. At first it was embarrassing for me but I realized what a treasure God has given us to be able to do this right now. Praise the Lord. I need to send my thanks to my parents too. The ministry will greatly benefit too. This week we will host both the staff and a Friday night group in our house and they will see the difference.
- Ricardo came over and helped my dad and I clean up the front yard. What a good time it has been connecting with him to such a point where we could share our needs.
- This Friday at the Starbucks group we had a Christmas in July party, complete with a Christmas tree to decorate, Christmas Carol Karaoke, Christmas Dinner and a gift exchange. Deby did a masterful job of integrating the story of Jesus into the presentation of the Christmas story. Praise the Lord.
- Praise God that Timothy completed his 2nd class rank in Scouts. He survived Boy Scout summer camp in New Mexico and completed 4 merit badges while there. (He also free rappelled for which he was excited about)
I was suggested this website via my cousin. I am not sure whether this put up is
written by way of him as nobody else understand such specific approximately my problem.
