Some kind of Week, More Great Books on Prayer, No Camping trip :-(

ISI Other, RoyNews

This was a rough week on many accounts. Lots of Spiritual warfare and I have not handled it well. Still I know God is at work. One of the more difficult parts of this week is that we had to cancel a major event. Some of you have been praying for our Stephenville camping trip this coming weekend. Because of coming weather, a lack of student participation and lack of volunteers and a real sense from the Lord in prayer that He wasn’t in it, we decided that we needed to cancel the trip. We have a real peace about it but it certainly is disappointing. It was just that kind of week. Different things that we had a peace about but were disappointing. It is times like this that knowing you all pray for us makes a difference. Thank you so much!

  • There were several opportunities to coach ISI staff and potential staff around the country this week. I was much encouraged by this. I really enjoy coaching people in doing ministry and loving and serving God.
  • We had a great three staff and local ministry team meetings where we got a lot of work done. In one we made significant headway in redesigning the M:28 PTO Discipleship curriculum. It was fun working with several Spirit filled, motivated staff people.
  • Jonathan was named a AP Scholar by the AP test people. I don’t know what that means but it sounds great. He also drove safely around Pantego for an hour without incident (huge step) as we continue helping him learn how to drive.
  • Lisa’s trip to Glen Rose with a visit to see the Promise, outdoor play about Jesus went well. There were many questions. Praise the Lord!
  • Published two more prayer books for Clyde Hodson: Persistent Prayer (Prayer Efforts) – http://amzn.com/B00FAQXD58, Lord’s Prayer Outline – http://amzn.com/B00FAS4I6Y. this completes his first series on prayer on Kindle. These books with “Coming to a Place of Abiding” ( http://amzn.com/B00F4F8YU4) and “God’s Calling and the Authority of the Believer.” (http://amzn.com/B00F4GT2KY) comprise some of the best books on prayer that I have ever read as it relates to consistent long term, and even daily prayer that has effect on ministry and life. We praise the Lord for this new media that can extend the reach of people able to learn from Clyde about prayer.
