Christmas and New Years – Flights
FamilyNews, ISI UTASteve and Maho came our house for Christmas dinner. They were able to experience the whole movie, “The Nativity” with our family. We all had bent and flexed because Steve’s “kind-of” vegetarianism. Typically we have had ham, roast beef or turkey in the past. This year we had a very good vegetarian chili that Lisa made. Steve and Maho both told me that they would remember the night together for a long time.
Steve and I picked up what was supposed to be four new Indian students from the airport with another student, Manish and his family: wife, Aradhna and son Anish. The flight came in and it was a long time before we saw any of the students. Three of the guys came out an hour later. We were able to send two of the guys with Manish and his family. But there was rumor that the fourth, student, a female student, was seen by one of the other guys. We stayed with the third male student Mohit and waited. We were there from 6-10 PM. and she never emerged from Customs. She must have missed the plane. By the time we got out we were famished and went to McDonalds. What a first meal for a vegetarian from India…It was a very good time with Mohit and Steve. I know God was in it as we had four unhindered hours together.
Praise the Lord as he provided a car through my parents to our oldest son Jonathan. God provides! What an incredible and needed blessing. With college coming next year and all the changes soon to happen in his life, it was a very big help.
On New Years Eve, we had a sort of “Japan Night” at our house. Old friends, Jeff and Reiko Kirstein and their kids joined us with former students Daiju and Amanda and their infant son Micaiah. Both families had lived in Japan for extended periods of time. Both are great friends we hadn’t seen in a while. We’ve ministered in the past with each family. It was such a blessing to be together.
