Space Weekend Fall 2013, “Breakfast Club, the Books are on Amazon,
ISI Dallas/Fort Worth, Misc, RoyNews(Pictures) Space weekend is over and the students who came away blessed and I feel a whole lot closer to several of them as a result. This last weekend was ISI Space Weekend for the ISI groups at Tarrant County colleges. We were treated by our ISI cohorts and their host families in Houston to a overnight trip where students experienced NASA, meeting, taking pictures with and listening to a astronaut (who had been in space 7 times), staying in an American’s home (We stayed in a mansion!), experiencing an American church (several of my guys went to church for the very first time ever) experiencing the shore and going to an amusement park on a boardwalk. Wow. Each driver was responsible for a number of students (I had six guys) and everyone in their car stayed together for the whole time. It was very intense but also very fun. There were elements of staying cooped up in a cabin with a bunch of guys for hours and really getting to know each other. The experience kind of reminds me of the 80’s movie, “The Breakfast Club.”
- The relationships I formed with my group of guys 3 Japanese, 2 Indians and one Brazilian on the space weekend trip were priceless. While I’ve been on many of these trips, I experience some things on this trip for the first time with these guys. We were able to talk at a heart level too. What a blessing. Praise the Lord.
- The group that went to Houston consisted of around 50 people mostly from the UTA ministry and all of them had a similar experience to our vehicle. It was a great trip.
- Over the last few years, I have been mentored in the area of prayer by our dear friends, Clyde and Mary Lynne. I and our team have grown so much in a very short amount of time. We have also helped them through ISI to have a platform for ministry. What we have learned from each other has truly transformed each of our lives and what we have learned from them has changed the lives of our staff and students. Clyde has written three books that have played a huge part of our transformation. We have tried hard to get this limited run books into as many ISI staff hands as possible. The problem has always been access. Well, I’ve been working on bringing these books to the Amazon Kindle so the whole world could benefit from the pearls of wisdom therein contained. Well, this week we were able to release two of the four books on the kindle platform. If you go to the links http://amzn.com/B00F4F8YU4 and http://amzn.com/B00F4GT2KY. You will find these books, “Coming to a Place of Abiding“, and “God’s Calling and the Authority of the Believer.” These are the most concise and effective books on kingdom prayer I’ve ever read, especially for people who want to effect the world.
