Fall Fest, Kayaks, Hiking & a Day trip to the State Park,
ISI TCU, ISI UTA
See pictures from October including pictures from Fun Fest This has been a busy week in terms of making new friends. Well, we ended up not camping this week but instead we went on a day trip to Cleburne State Park (see pictures). It was a fun time where we made some new friends and got closer to some “old” ones. Later this week, we took some students to the FallFest at Christ Church Assembly of God in Fort Worth to volunteer. We had 3 students from UTA signed up to go and we ended up with 20, many friends we met on the camping trip. It was a real blessing watching them serve the nearly 9000 people at this event. Our students with another 20 TCU students manned 5 different “booths” including blow up slides, zip lines, suction cup cross bow shoots, football throws, etc.
Praises:
- I am excited that Ricardo & Ting agreed to start an M:28 Bible study before our regular Friday night meeting starting next week. We will start with doing an M:28 Bible Study on Walking with Jesus and then see where God takes our group. My hope is that these young leaders will invite their friends to this study in the future. It’s always fun to study the Bible and get to know Jesus with friends.
- As shared the camp-out/day trip turned out well. Several did things like ride kayaks, fish, even hike for the first time. We also were able to visit a re-enactment museum that hearkens back to the mid 19th century in Texas that the students experienced. Many of the students were existing Planetarium group Taiwanese students. There were also several new mainland students that really seemed to enjoy the fellowship and said they want to experience more of ISI and will share about it with their friends. Praise the Lord. Praise also that no one got injured.
- Praise the Lord for the opportunity to serve the students by creating opportunities for them to serve, this time at the Fall Fest. They seem to really enjoy this and it allows us to talk at a heart level about deeper things.
