Welcoming new students

What a week of welcoming students! Picked up students from Mexico, Spain, Japan and India from the airport. Also helped arrange housing for a few, went shopping with a couple more, and helped with getting students to and from Walmart. It was busy. It was hard not having a bad attitude, being out almost every night. But I was reminded several times that God was blessing these students through our team. I was blessed by a couple who I helped find a place to stay. We did most of it over the phone and they stayed with some friends who have a real gift of hospitality. The couple was so touched they wanted to meet me personally. Now I know what “OnCall” dispatchers feel like.
- Made some great connections with new students this week as we picked them up from the airport, took them to the store and help them settle in. Several students helped out and that made it doubly special because the helper students were learning the “love your neighbor” stuff.
- Ron took over the TCU team meeting. I really missed being a part but I really believe he will be able to take that team to places I was not able to. Pray for God to do something special there. I believe He wants to.
- Lisa and the kids are back in work and school respectively.
- Friday night fellowship started up again. It was great seeing pictures up from both the Starbucks and Planetarium groups and to see the students back.
