This week felt like a week with meeting after meeting after meeting. Still, it was a good week on may levels. God was present and working and for that we are thankful.

  • You all have been praying for “Sylvan” from India for a long time for many things. Well, as Lisa and I were completing a difficult day, we both got a text from him saying, “I want to get baptized, what is the procedure.” I Facebook IM’ed him right after I finished helping the kids go to bed (late) and we arranged to meet the next day. I was concerned he was doing this to gain favor with God because of a crisis he is in right now. We went to Starbucks the next day and he told me that one of the guys at church, Kevin, talked with him about God and the Bible and he figured out that he wanted to commit all the way to Jesus no matter what happens with the crisis. I wanted to confirm where he was. He had been shared the Bridge illustration at least 3 times in the last year, he told me he was telling the last guy who was sharing it with him what each thing in the diagram represented before the poor guy was able to share it. He said a couple of days ago, he had crossed over the bridge. Wow. We talked about baptism and what it means through scripture and it is clear this is real. We hope for him to be baptized at our church soon.
  • My sister, Ann, and her family came out to Texas from California for a softball tournament. I am very thankful that God opened up this opportunity to see them. It was such a joy for us. Also, Liz Gold, missions coordinator, from our church in California was also able to visit us.
  • Met with a couple of people who are looking at joining ISI Staff.
  • While Jonathan did not pass his driving test for the drivers license, he we presented with a certificate for a large scholarship for when he goes to UT Arlington in the Fall at Seniors awards night. We are so proud of him on so many levels. Timothy also get the outstanding Technology student award plus a few others from Bailey Jr. High. We are also very proud of him too. C-11 won a couple of blue ribbons during field day. We are so proud of all of them. Today, Jonathan goes to the prom (no way!) and Timothy has an Orchestra Banquet. Praise the Lord. Tim also turned 14 this week.
  • We have the awesome privilege of having dinner with our Indian friends, the Sharma’s. They may have to leave in the Fall (Pray for a job or funding for him). Their son goes to school with C-11 and we met them there. Maraha is a visiting scholar at UTA. What a wonderful time of community with this seeking Hindu family.
