This has been a time of much growing for our family. We have been challenged to be and do more than ever before, and God is showing Himself faithful in getting us through. Because Roy has been away much of the time, it has put an additional burden on everyone, and yet we have grown significantly in learning to depend on God.
Lisa is enjoying her job at Dallas Baptist University where she is still teaching ESL and has more responsibilities than in past jobs. She takes students on field trips. She is an academic counselor to some. She takes others to visit some American families who have volunteered their homes to host students. Thankfully this is all stuff that she likes to do. We are so thankful for God’s directing her to leave her previous post to take on this one.
The kids have finished their semester and are home right now for summer vacation.
Timothy received many honors in academics & cello at his final awards ceremony at Hill Elementary School as he finished 6th grade.
This summer he was part of our church’s 6th grade mission trip and will be going to Boy Scout Camp for the first time.
Jonathan successfully finished his sophomore year at Arlington High School. This summer he will be taking a dual credit community college course and will be studying for next year’s Academic Decathlon team.
Charis worked hard to complete the 3rd grade with all A’s. She loves to help mom and dad out no matter what it is. She enjoys helping dad with errands, often going with him to the hardware store. She is always eager to help mom out around the house, especially in the kitchen, and she is taking a cooking class this summer through Arlington Parks and Rec. She also will be going to our church’s pre-teen camp.
