Sharing Christ's Love with International Students in North Texas

Family times, Driving for Jesus and Olympics

FamilyNews, ISI UTA, KidsNews, Praise

In many ways this was a week of spending time with family. Our eldest son, Jonathan celebrated his 16th birthday. I went on canoe/kayak outing with my second son, Timothy’s scout troop. Lisa had the week off and she, her mother, Penny joining our family all the way from Oregon and Charis went all over the place doing “girl” things. We all took some special day trips in the area including a visit to Lego Discovery Land and a couple of movies and what a week of Olympic action.God also worked powerfully in our ministry. I’ll share more about that below. All in all, it was a wonderful week. Praise the Lord for weeks like this.

Roy was able to take new Vietnamese student Tina to a LARGE UTA parking lot to teach her how to drive again. Afterwards, Roy asked her about things of God and shared the one verse bridge to life a wonderful tool we borrowed from the Navigators to train students on how share their faith. It became a wonderful opportunity for her to share that she is a believer in Jesus already but she also slipped in the past and now wants to grow in walking with Jesus. Praise the Lord for this discussion.

We had a terrific Friday night at the Hodson’s with countless people (the house was packed). We watched the Olympics opening ceremony, we had good fellowship, discussion groups and Bible studies. Praise the Lord for some of the relationships that are starting to form.
